"This offering consists of a black-and-light wood Rawlings bat, autographed and inscribed by David ""Big Papi"" Ortiz. The bat is hand-signed and inscribed ""Good Luck"" by Ortiz, on the barrel in silver felt-tip marker. Ortiz was instrumental in the Boston Red Sox ending its 86-year World Series championship drought in 2004, as well as during successful championship runs in 2007 and 2013; he was named the World Series Most Valuable Player for the latter championship. ""Big Papi"" was a ten-time All-Star, three-time World Series champion, and seven-time Silver Slugger award winner. He was described by CBS Sports as ""one of the greatest designated hitters the game has ever seen""."

John Hirschbeck is a former umpire for Major League Baseball. He worked in the American League from 1984 to 1999 and worked in both leagues from 2000 to 2016. He was a crew chief at the time of his retirement and wore uniform number 17 throughout his career. In 2000, Hirschbeck was elected as the first president of the newly certified World Umpires Association, a position he held until 2009.
