This offering consists of a Pete Rose autographed and inscribed Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger bat. The bat is hand signed and inscribed with "All-Time Hit King #4256". Pete Rose, nicknamed “Charlie Hustle,” made his Major League baseball debut for the Cincinnati Reds That season, he was Rookie of the Year. Rose was a switch hitter and is the all-time MLB leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053), singles (3,215), and outs (10,328). He won three World Series rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, and made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequaled five positions (second baseman, left fielder, right fielder, third baseman, and first baseman). He retired as a player in 1986 and as a manager in 1989.

John Hirschbeck is a former umpire for Major League Baseball. He worked in the American League from 1984 to 1999 and worked in both leagues from 2000 to 2016. He was a crew chief at the time of his retirement and wore uniform number 17 throughout his career. In 2000, Hirschbeck was elected as the first president of the newly certified World Umpires Association, a position he held until 2009.
